Test for the established tracks
If an AI function contributes to creative ideation, image generation, modification, material organisation or evaluation-file production, it does not comply with the three established tracks.

AI POLICY · 2026/2027
The answer depends on the track. The three established tracks prohibit AI involvement. Digital Character & Virtual Fashion Design permits disclosed AI assistance while requiring student-led core ideas and final judgement.
ANSWER FIRST
Fashion Design, Fashion Illustration and Fashion Accessories may not use any AI tool or AI function for ideation, creation, modification, organisation or evaluation materials. Digital Character & Virtual Fashion Design may use disclosed AI assistance, stating the tool, stage and scope.
TRACK-BY-TRACK
Do not extend the digital-character exception to another track. Each entry follows the rule of the track under which it is registered.
AI may not take part in ideation, creation, modification, organisation or evaluation materials. Conventional drawing, photography, scanning, layout, retouching, patternmaking and modelling software may be used with AI functions disabled.
Read the track rule ↗TRACK 02AI may not take part in any creative or material-production stage. Conventional drawing, photography, scanning, layout, retouching and presentation software may be used without embedded AI functions.
Read the track rule ↗TRACK 03AI may not take part in ideation, creation, modification, organisation or evaluation materials. AI functions in conventional drawing, patternmaking, modelling or presentation software are also prohibited.
Read the track rule ↗TRACK 04AI may assist visual sketches, motion, scene simulation, rendering or movement reference, but the student must lead character, story, styling, visual direction, colour and final judgement.
Read the track rule ↗WHAT COUNTS AS AI
The rule follows the function and stage, not just the software name. Generative, completion or intelligent rewriting features added to a conventional tool remain AI functions.
If an AI function contributes to creative ideation, image generation, modification, material organisation or evaluation-file production, it does not comply with the three established tracks.
Drawing, photography, scanning, layout, retouching, patternmaking, modelling and presentation software are not prohibited in themselves. Their AI functions must not be used in the established tracks.
Permitted assistance does not mean handing the work to a tool. The student should be able to explain the character, design decisions, process and final choices.
Digital-track entrants must hold the necessary legal rights or licences for software, assets, models, fonts, images, music and other resources used.
DISCLOSURE
Disclosure should describe the tool's actual role, not just state that AI was used. Follow any more specific live fields in the registration portal.
Name the AI tool or AI-enabled software actually used rather than referring vaguely to an intelligent tool.
State whether assistance was used for visual sketches, scene simulation, rendering, motion, movement reference or another specific step.
Explain what the AI assisted and which character, clothing, accessories, story, colour and final choices were made by the student.
Retain sketches, versions, revisions and decisions that demonstrate student-led ideas and final judgement, and provide them if requested by the Organising Committee.
OFFICIAL SOURCES
This page consolidates the published AI boundaries for all four tracks. If a tool or use case is unclear, ask the Organising Committee before submission. The official charter and notices remain authoritative.

Conventional drawing, photography, scanning, layout, retouching, patternmaking, modelling and presentation functions are permitted. Embedded AI functions must not be used in the three established tracks.
Disclosed AI assistance is permitted, but the entrant must state the tool, stage and scope. Core ideas, character and styling settings, visual direction and final judgement must remain student-led.
At minimum, state the tool, stage and scope truthfully. Complete any more specific fields shown in the live registration portal.
